The city of Red Deer is located in the heart of Alberta’s Parkland region, between Edmonton & Calgary. The Muslim community of the city – which numbers above 1000 – has purchased a 5-acre land to move into a new facility from our existing masjid, which was built in 1993. We have far exceed our current capacity of 250 congregants.
The plan is to build an Islamic Center with a community hall for social activities and youth programs, as well as an Islamic school to meet the educational needs of children in our community.
Financial contributions will firstly go toward purchasing a new site for the mosque followed soon thereafter by design development and construction.
Our goal is to begin laying the foundation by April of 2019, Inshaa’Allah.
